The primary responsibilities of a Search Marketing Specialist are to research and understand the strategy of the agency accounts; resulting in sound creation, implementation and day-to-day management of effective search marketing campaigns.
Search specialists should be comfortable interfacing with clients. On a regular basis the SMS will be required to attend meetings, conference calls and business functions where results will be discussed based on strategy and optimization.
Day-to-day stuff:
- Develops initial keyword list for manager’s review, being cognizant of relevant content on landing pages
- Traffics keywords and optimizes as necessary
- Regularly reports metrics for client updates
- Ability to train colleagues on basic SEM tactics and processes
