Position:

Assistant Professor in Advertising, Department of Communications and Journalism, School of Communications

Starting Date:

Academic Year 2009-10, (begins August 2009).

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years professional advertising and/or design-related experience required. Masters degree required. Post-secondary teaching experience preferred. Must be proficient in, and able to teach, the Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver and Flash. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who provide interdisciplinary and/or international education interests.

Duties:

The successful candidate will teach Visual Communication (Design), Advertising Print Production, Advertising Production for the Internet, Advertising Campaign Production. Other courses could include Production Tools for Advertising and PR, Professional Development for Advertising or Creative Strategies for Advertising. Responsibilities will include a teaching load of three courses per semester, advising approximately 35 students majoring in the department, and contributing to the needs of the Communications and Journalism Department
